Part I Panelists - Economic Issues

Michael Carroll, Ph.D., Director of Bowling Green State University's Center for Regional Development and Associate Professor of Economics.

Tony Allen, the outgoing Region 2 Economic Development Director for the Ohio Department of Development.

Luther Tweeten, Ph.D., a retired professor of Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics, and past president and director of the American Agricultural Economics Association.

Mark Stockman, Chief Deputy Engineer for Allen County. As Paulding County Engineer from 1992 to 2005, he researched the economic impact of large dairy farms in Paulding and Van Wert Counties.


Part II Panelists - Environmental Concerns

Kevin Elder, Executive Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Livestock Environmental Permitting Program.

Robert Midden, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Chemistry at Bowling Green State University, recently involved with baseline water quality testing for the Wood County Health Department.

Rick Wilson, an inspector/engineer with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Division of Surface Water and currently co-chair of the Animal Agriculture Task Force for the Association of State & Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators.

Gary Silverman, Director of the Environmental Health Program at Bowling Green State University, which offers an integrated study of physical, chemical and biological agents and their effect on the environment and human health.


Part III Panelists - Regulatory Aspects

Kevin Elder, the Executive Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture Livestock Environmental Permitting Program.

Rick Wilson, an inspector/engineer with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Division of Surface Water and currently co-chair of the Animal Agriculture Task Force for the Association of State & Interstate Water Pollution Control Administrators.

Trent Daugherty, staff attorney for the Ohio Environmental Council, a statewide environmental and conservation advocacy group with more than 100 member organizations.

Linda Holmes, civil attorney in the Wood County Prosecutor's office, who advised the Perry Township Trustees on the legalities of their proposed zoning.

 


Part IV Panelists - Next Steps Moving Forward

Randy Gardner, Republican Senator for Ohio's 2nd District since 2001 and current Majority Floor Leader.

Teresa Fedor, Democratic Senator for Ohio's 11th District since 2003 and currently Senate Minority Leader.

Joe Logan is President of the Ohio Farmers Union and sits on the Board of Directors of the National Farmers Union.

Larry Gearhardt is the Director of Local Affairs for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and has serves as chair of the Agricultural Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association.
