Suicide Prevention Education

The goal of this WBGU-PBS local production is to offer community assistance and education to those who are affected by suicide. This forum provided community leaders and mental health professionals
the opportunity to discuss warning signs and "at-risk" behaviors for depression and suicide to the
general public.

Moderated by Patrick Fitzgerald (WBGU General Manager) these forums featured community leaders
and local mental health professionals. Topics of discussion were the warning signs, risk factors for depression and suicide, and what to expect if your loved one reaches out for help or what you can do
to support them even if they are resistant to help.

Patrick Fitzgerald
I hope families will tune in, as WBGU-PBS,in collaboration with local and regional citizens, educators and service providers, sheds light on suicide, suicide prevention, at risk behavior for youth and how to improve parent and youth communication, as we prove that our communities do care,” ~ Patrick Fitzgerald.
