After the untimely death of Representative Paul Gillmor, a vacancy opened up in Congress for Ohio's 5th District seat. In this NW Ohio Journal Election Special you'll learn about the issues facing the candidates seeking to fill the late Gillmor's shoes. You are able to submit questions ahead of time via the NW Ohio Journal discussion board. The program is hosted by Larry Weiss.

On November 1st at 8 pm, NW Ohio Journal presented an election special featuring all of the Democratic and Republican candidates running to fill Ohio's 5th District congressional seat. Host Larry Weiss and guest journalists posed questions to the candidates during this live forum.

On November 29th at 8 pm, the follow-up NW Ohio Journal Election Special will feature a discussion of the issues facing the two winners of the primary elections. Larry Weiss, accompanied by three guests, will discuss the Ohio's 5th Congressional District candidates and the issues facing them in the U.S. Congress.



On December 11th a special election will determine who will represent Ohio's 5th Congressional District.

Viewer's are encouraged to submit "questions of interest" ahead of time on the NW Ohio Journal Discussion board, some of which may be selected for use during the broadcast.
