This program airs on Monday, August 16 at 10 pm, and an extended

This feature documentary traces the life and work of American sculptor
Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907) from his birth in Dublin, Ireland, to his
work in New York City and Paris to his death in Cornish, New Hampshire.
The story is woven around in-depth studies of five of his major works of art,
including the Standing Lincoln in Lincoln Park, Chicago; the Shaw Memorial on
Boston Common; the Sherman Monument in Central Park; the Diana in the
Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the Adams Memorial in Washington, D.C.
