Toledo is the birthplace of women’s football, dating back to the 1930’s. In the 1970’s, Toledo witnessed the emergence of a legendary team, the Toledo Troopers, who compiled a 68-4 record over nine seasons on their way to seven consecutive league championships and immortalization in the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. In 1984, the Toledo Furies brought another championship home to Toledo. The Reign began their quest for domination in 2003 and are currently the longest tenured women’s football team in Ohio. In 2012, Thee Reign won a Division Championship as part of the Women’s Football Alliance. Thee Reign looks forward to chasing their league championship dreams with a great mix of returning veterans and promising rookies.
