Got Science!

Each of the Got Science! content standards is explored on two levels. Each video serves as a point of departure. The student videos introduce the Physical Science academic content standard and underlying concepts in an engaging manner designed specifically for 9th grade students. The instructor development videos examine the academic content standards in greater detail, and provide instructions for in-class demonstrations, and recommended topics for further discussion with the students.

Understanding Kinetic Energy
Explain how an object's kinetic energy depends on its mass and its speed (KE =? mv 2).

Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions
Illustrate that chemical reactions are either endothermic or exothermic (e.g., cold packs, hot packs and the burning of fossil fuels).

Wave Behavior: Reflection and Superimposition
Show how the properties of a wave depend on the properties of the medium through which it travels.

Newton's First Law of Motion
Explain the movement of objects by applying Newton's three laws of motion.
