Preschool “U” dives deep into the depths of learning and teaching children with and without learning disabilities and challenging behaviors. A useful series on recognizing the characteristics of challenging behaviors and practical interventions for the classroom, these strategies will aid in giving support to children who exhibit these characteristics allowing them to be more successful not only in the classroom but in the entire school as well.

Introduction
This section is an introduction by Kim Christensen M.Ed. Kim is a faculty member in the School of Intervention Services at Bowling Green State University. In this section she briefly describes the characteristics of challenging behaviors. View Video

Framework for Developing a Proactive Positive Behavior Support Plan 
This video will provide a framework for developing a proactive positive support plan based on Applied Behavior Analysis methodology. The framework will be blended with an understanding of disabilities and the impact of sensory, communication and social issues of children with special needs in your classroom. View Video

Classroom Organization and Development and Implementation of Visual Supports
This video will discuss a hypothetical model of what influences learning. Based on this model, this video will begin to build a plan starting with the importance of classroom organization and the implementation of visual supports. View Video

Sensory Processing Characteristics and Strategies
This video discusses the importance of identifying the impact of sensory systems and how they affect children in the classroom. View Video

Communication Characteristics and Strategies 
This video will discuss communication issues for children with special needs as well as the importance of the development and use of these communication strategies in all environments. View Video

Circle Time Gone Wild 
This video will discuss one of the more difficult pre-school activities for children with special needs-CIRCLE TIME. The idea of CIRCLE TIME has been an institution in the pre-school classroom for many years and involves teaching a variety of concepts in a large group setting. View Video
